Fest Friends has a Facebook Group! It's "Fest Friends of MNRF" we'd love
for everyone who is a FF and is also on FB to join. It should be a great way of
staying connected with friends from fest and we'll also be using it to make
announcements in addition to using email.

After a wonderfully fun MidWinter Feast in January (everyone had fun despite the
snow), we're gearing up for our next event (info coming soon) and looking
forward to the 2009 Season. The Membership Renewal form is up and soon we'll be
able to take payments via PayPal.

As many of you may know, we exceeded our membership goals for our first year
with over 100 membership units and over 200 people joining! We're excited to be
looking forward to the 2009 Festival even bigger and better!
We're reviewed the surveys and we have a few top choices for off-season events,
which as the timing is figured out will be announced here and members will
receive either an email or snail mail information. But first....
Here's what some of you said about Fest Friends' first year:
This has been a great first year!
This has been awesome!!
You have started a great thing, it's one of the
reasons we come here.
This great, a place to sit, chat and relax
You have exceeded my wildest expectations, bravo!!
Fest Friends ROCKS!

Wow! 2 weekends down already! First weekend was really hot and we went through
huge amounts of lemonade and water,
but lots of people we able to stay hydrated and sought some shade in the Glade
(that rhymes). We were much cooler 2nd
weekend, and people had more chance to hang out and get to know one another.
Just a reminder, that if you wish to march
in the Parade, we can have up to 6 people each day, but you need to sign up in
the Glade to guarantee your spot. A very special thanks to those volunteers and
Friends who helped out these first 2 crazy weekends-you're amazing! And thanks
too, to those who keep appearing with treats to share. Back to the "real world"
for a few days, see you Saturday!

The tents are up and so is most of the fence! With bed rock just slightly below
the surface, sinking the steaks has been challenging at best and more than
frustrating at worst, but we're almost ready for Saturday! The Glade is looking
amazingly like the computer elevation posted on July 8th.

Memberships keep rolling in and we're assigning numbers as fast as we can.
Don't forget that you will need to pick up your card and medallion upon your
first visit to the Glade.
Next week we'll be on the Festival grounds starting to get the Glade ready for
the season! We'll be setting up tents, getting the fencing set and hopefully
enjoying some nice weather while doing so. If you have some time on your hands
and would like to help, please email
us so we can let you know when we'll be out working and if we're in need of
help the days you're available.

Just a quick update to share a quick peek at what the Glade will look like:

As you can see, there will be some
shade, some sun and although the image just shows one table and benches, there
will places to sit as well. The open fencing will allow members to watch the
world go by, without missing out on the action all around us. Clearly, the
real thing will be more inviting and a lot more colorful, but this gives you an
idea.

The website is up and we're ready to start registering members! Check out the
"Membership Information" link above to
download the form.

We have a site! The Fest Friends Glade will be just up the hill to the east from
the Mead Booth, slightly to the north of the Pavilion. If you are familiar with
where the Labyrinth Garden is, we're right next to it. We'll have some sun and
some shade, with tables and benches and hopefully a wonderful group of people to
fill it.
